The aim of the series of webinars is to demonstrate how the final prototype of the AEGLE platform supports the use of big data analytics in healthcare.
DEMO of AEGLE Platform for (Clinical) Researchers
The AEGLE Platform for (Clinical) Researchers can be used for hypothesis testing, developing and improving predictive analytics and for deriving insights regarding the patients treated in a ward or hospital.
The first demo for presenting the AEGLE Platform for (Clinical) Research will take place on:

17th May 2018 - 18th May 2018
Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Are you a clinical researcher or a medical practitioner interested in the application of future technologies in your field? Are you a decision maker in the healthcare domain interested in seeing results of big data analytics projects and initiatives?
This conference is for you. The AEGLE project organizes the clustering conference ‘Demonstrating Results of Big Data initiatives in Healthcare’. The conference will take place on May 17th & 18th 2018 at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
During this conference national and European initiatives and start-ups who develop big data solutions in healthcare will demonstrate their work to potential users. Participants will present problems faced in current care and demonstrate how their big data solutions address these problems.
Technical aspects are merely one of the barriers for successful adoption of big data analytics in clinical practice. Other issues that these initiatives face are ethical and legal challenges, the cost-effectiveness of the solutions, usability and standardization. Therefore, attendees will also present how they have addressed these challenges in their initiative.
Would you like to attend the conference?
Do you want to share your research on big data solutions for healthcare?
Submit your abstract:
Abstracts can be submitted to email@example.com before March 1st 2018 and should be no longer than 300 words.
Abstracts are subject to the following format:
- PROBLEM: describe the health problem your solution addresses
- SOLUTION: describe the technical solution and how you will present your prototype- e.g. video or screenshots
- SPECIAL CHALLENGE: refer to how you address one of the following common non-technical Big Data challenges:
- Legal/ethical issues concerning data,
- Measurable impact (i.e. cost-effectiveness) of your solution,
- Dataset standardisation,
Abstracts will be selected based on relevance and quality of the submission. When submitting your abstract please indicate your interest in chairing a session at the conference.
Abstract submission is open to all initiatives that focus on big-data in healthcare irrespective of their funding or scope. We therefore also invite non-EU and national initiatives to submit their work! If you are a project coordinator, would you be so kind as to forward this to partners?
The authors of the accepted contributions are invited to submit a full paper before the June 15th 2018 for a special issue of Health Policy and Technology (https://www.journals.elsevier.com/health-policy-and-technology/).
